Jelani RitterA Descendant of Susannah “Suckey” Martin 1772; of Estate Mountain Stewart and Madeline Nixon 1795; of estate Annaly Northside A quarter. Mr. Jelani Ritter is a proud 9th generation crucian, with roots deeply embedded within the umbilical cord of the town of Frederiksted. It is Jelani’s belief that life is centered right at the corner where passion meets purpose.

A Lean Six Sigma Certified Project Management Professional, with over 15 years of Public Policy, media and strategic advisory experience. Mr. Ritter is the founder and Chief executive officer of JLR Media Group, LLC, and has worked alongside many executive teams as well as governments, loaning his consulting, Communications and process improvement expertise, towards building strategic communications and influencing organizational change within Fortune 500 organizations on the US mainland and abroad, to include Time Warner, Duke Energy, Boeing and the City of Miramar.

A local heart with a global perspective; as described by his colleagues, “Mr. Ritter is deeply adaptable and cognizant of culturally appropriate strategies,” learned over the last 10 years being employed with one of the world’s largest Aerospace and Defense Contractors within the United States Department of Defense, headquartered in the UK.. A consummate Professional and a champion for diversity and inclusion, Jelani is a member of the Music in Motion school of higher dance education Advisory Board, he is a Recipient of The young black and influential award by Omega Psi Phi fraternity of charlotte, and most recently received a UN Sung Hero award from the office of former Senator Alicia Barnes for his contributions to the St. Croix community.

A proponent of all things virgin islands, known for his insightful Social and political commentary. Jelani Ritter has become a household name and has solidified himself as a trusted source for information within the territory with his coined phrase “As per Fax!”

Proficient in international relations; global governance, economics, and management. Mr. Ritter is no Stranger to the planning and execution of events the magnitude of the 175th Emancipation Commemoration, and humbly thanks Governor Albert Bryan for his appointment to such a historic committee. He possesses a strong public service ethic with a holistic understanding of strategic operational and stakeholder objectives, which drives his ability to achieve consensus while managing expectations, sharing ideas, and implementing projects within Europe, the United States, and the Caribbean.
